DSD CARDS - KNOWLEDGE CARDS FOR DESIGNERS

DSD, Developmentally Situated Design, cards aim to make knowledge about child development more accessible to designers. These cards are meant to be used by designers in various design practices, and they specifically target designers who many not have a background in child development.

The cards are divided into four categories: cognitive, physical, social, and emotional and three age groups: 5-6, 7-9, and 10-12. Each card has a piece of child development theory, an example of that theory in practice, and designer tips. The current design is based on feedback the team received from various interviews with child development academia and designers who create objects for children.
